The course takes 70 hours (+-30 hours theory & 40 hours supervised practical in your own time at your own pace) – The 30 hours of theory takes 2 – 3 days from 9am to 4pm.

Course instruction, course manual, practice rubber ear rubber (for use during the course only), needles and all other treatment materials needed for the 30 hours theory. Supervised training after the theoretic period is completed as well as telephonic & personal support as and when needed.

Eligibility
The only requirement for doing this course is a matric certificate. This modality is suitable for anyone wanting to learnn how to treat addictions, mental illness and diseases etc. including alternative therapy workers, harm reduction workers, counsellors, volunteers, doctors, physiotherapists, chiropractors, traditional healers, psychologists, psychiatrists, homeopaths, iridologists, kinesiologists, case workers, alternative therapy workers, harm reduction workers, counsellors, volunteers or anyone wanting to start a new alternative health business.

Full payment is required in order to enroll in the course. Acudetox Clinics South Africa was started by Warren Whitfield in 2006. After travelling to New York to study acupuncture for treating addiction, Warren Whitfield returned to S.A. and became qualified as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist Trainer in 2010. He completed his training at Lincoln Memorial Hospital Recovery Centre in South Bronx New York, the original clinic that pioneered the 5 point NADA Acudetox protocol.
He brought back Acudetox to South Africa and also trains people who wish to become specialists. Warren is also the C.E.O. The Addiction Action Campaign, a formidable public advocacy group which represents the rights of all South Africans on the issue of addiction and substance abuse, and he is the founder and Chairperson of the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association of South Africa (NADA S.A.) Warren also founded the formidable Addiction Harm Reduction Compliancy (AHRC) advocacy organization which challenges companies that profit from people who are addicted to their products and or services.

My name is Warren Whitfield. I am the current Chairperson and ex CEO of the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association in South Africa.
I have trained approximately 210 practitioners in South Africa over the past 6 years. They include doctors, psychologists, nurses, reflexologists, homeopaths, counsellors, massage therapists, harm reduction workers, volunteers, beauty therapists, admin staff etc. and others wanting to learn the protocol. I am also the founder of the Addiction Action Campaign in South Africa and am on the board of the Johannesburg Press Club.
I studied in New York under Dr. Michael Smith at Lincoln Memorial Hospital Recovery Centre in South Bronx and have been practising in South Africa since 2005. Using the knowledge I gained from doing this course myself, I have treated many serious illnesses such as Emphysema, Parkinson’s Disease, Schizophrenia, Endometriosis and other hormonal issues, pain, breast lumps, interstitial cystisis, infertility, impotence, tinnitus, drug and alcohol addictions including smoking cessation, pain management, cancer, ADHD, anti-aging, weight-loss, depression, infertility, impotence, bipolar disorder and other emotional disorders, OCD and PTSD, anxiety etc. Learning how to treat these diseases as well as others is also part of the course.
You may be interested to know that this course is part of the 3rd year curriculum at Yale University School of Psychiatry and has been so for the past 3 years now. I was there a few years ago to give a lecture and they said that they included the NADA Acudetox course because they realised the incredible potential to treat the health of the mind in a non-verbal and non-medicated way.

The course consists of completing 70 hours of theory and practical training. The theory takes approximately 30 hours to complete and the practical is 40 hours.
The course and be done only online or in person training is also included for those students who are able to attend training at our clinic in the Eden Recover Centre, 438 Chattan Road, Glenferness, Midrand, JHB.There are two pricing options at the bottom of this page.
The course fee does not include the registration fee with NADA once you have passed the exam which is R650.00pp per year. It also excludes the needles, alcohol swabs, magnets required to complete the 40 hours of practicals. This costs around R650.00pp (excluding shipping). The R650.00 annual registration fee with NADA SA is normally due after your final exam when your register with them. The names of the suppliers for the needles and swabs are provided to the students after they have enrolled with the course. They are situated in Johannesburg and ship to students anywhere in the world.
We have never had a student fail an exam. It’s quite simple to learn.
